Can Web Mail check my other email accounts?

Yes, you can configure Web Mail to check email from up to 5 of your other POP email accounts. For example, if you have a POP-based email account at work, or provided to you by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), you can check for incoming mail to those accounts from any Web browser, using Web Mail. If you are not sure if your other email accounts are POP-based, ask your ISP or system administrator.

 

Please note that not all Web Mail users will be able to change their password on the settings page; for security reasons, some domains have this capabilty disabled for their users.

How do I setup POP mail?

In order to set up POP mail, you will need to know some basic configuration information about the mail server for your other email account. If you are not sure what your account's settings are, call your ISP or ask your system administrator.

 

1. Click Settings from the navigation bar.
2. Click the POP Mail from external account link, listed under Mail Handling.
3. In the POP server name box, enter the name of the POP account's POP server, also known as its mail server. The POP server name is often "mail." followed by your account's domain name.
4. In the Account (user name) box, enter your login name for the POP account.
5. In the Password box, enter the password for your POP account (not your Web Mail password).
6. The standard POP port is 110. If the server for your POP account has POP running on a different port, enter the port number in the Server port number box.
7. Select the Web Mail folder where you wish the fetched mail to be delivered from the Folder pulldown menu.
8. If you would like the messages left on the remote system after you check them (so that they appear in your POP client's inbox), check the Leave msgs on server box.
9. If you only want Web Mail to pick up messages which are marked as new, check the Get only new msgs box.
10. Click the Set up POP button to save your changes. Click the Cancel changes button to clear the form.

How do edit my POPmail configurations?

To change the settings of your existing POP configurations:

 

1. Click Settings from the navigation bar.
2. Click the POP Mail from external account link, listed under Mail Handling.
3. Click the Edit button next to the POP configuration you wish to edit.
4. Make changes to any of the configuration information displayed on the bottom half of the page.
5. Click the Make changes button to save your changes. Click the Cancel changes button to undo your changes.

Can I temporarilystop Web Mail from checking a POP account?

Each time Web Mail checks for new mail, by default it also checks each POP account you have configured. You may wish to temporarily disable this automatic checking for one or more of your POP accounts. To disable a POP account:

 

1. Click Settings from the navigation bar.
2. Click the POP Mail from external account link, listed under Mail Handling.
3. Click the On button next to the POP configuration you wish to disable. The button will change to Off, to tell you this account is currently disabled.
4. To enable a POP account which is turned off, click the Off button next to it. The button will change to On.
