Logging in to Web Mail

• When I click on anything after logging in, I get kicked back to the initial log in screen.

• Why do I get the message, "Your user agent is not compatible" when I try to log in to Web Mail?

• Can I access Web Mail from behind a firewall?

• Can I access Web Mail from behind a proxy?

• Who should I contact if I forget my password?

I can log into Web Mail, but when I click on anything, I get kicked back to the initial login screen. What's going on?

Your browser is probably not configured to accept cookies. A "cookie" is a bit of information given to your browser by a website. Your browser then stores the cookie so that the website can access the information next time you visit. When you login, Web Mail sends you a temporary cookie to store your user information. It is not stored to disk, and expires whenever you hit the logout button, or exceed an hour of idle time.

 

To enable cookies:

 

In Netscape 4.0, go to the Edit menu and select Preferences, then select Advanced and ensure that 'Disable cookies' is not selected. Other browsers will have a similar setting.

You are using a rather old web browser and need to upgrade before you can use Web Mail.
